Open day at CYAU

Beginning early in 2018, the South Shore Flying Club has agreed to leas the Terminal Building at CYAU, to be used as a Clubhouse for meetings and gatherings.

We’ve been working diligently to fix up the building for our use. It’s been an interesting transformation with new paint, and repairs to the electrical and plumbing systems. Volunteers have put many hours into this “fix-up.”

We’ve decided to hold an Public Open House on Sunday July 8th from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. and we’d like to invite anyone from your club to join us for “Coffee & Conversation.”

It’s an informal gathering and we would be happy to welcome you to our new Clubhouse.

Please spread the word to anyone you feel would be interesting in an afternoon at the south Shore Regional Airport.

Thanks and looking forward to seeing you!

For sale – Cherokee

Cherokee

1966 Piper PA-28-140 Cherokee 6433 TTSN, 169 SMOH, Lycoming O-320 E2A, 160 HP, prop newly overhauled.

$45,000 CAD

Hangared, well-maintained, no damage history, all tech logs, Interior 9/10, Exterior 7/10

Equipment: Narco CP 136 Audio Panel, Narco Com 11A, Narco ADF (needs antenna), Narco AT50A Transponder, Narco Localizer and Glide slope (self-contained Nav), Apollo GX55 GPS, Bendix/King KX155 Nav Com with Bendix King CDI for localizer and glide slope, Panel Mounted 2- place Intercom, additional 4-place portable intercom included for back seat passengers.

Since purchasing the aircraft in 2007, we have done the following:

* Replaced the complete interior including headliner, sidewalls, carpet, seats, glare shield, and added the hat rack

* Replaced Compass, EGT meter, strobe electronics, Altimeter, electric fuel pump

* Landing light has been upgraded to LED.

* Had the engine overhauled in 2015 after 2400 hours, so at 169 SMOH it is pristine! At that time, it was zero-timed and converted to 160HP which gained it 10 kts and 300 FPM.

Aircraft is coming off annual in early June, 2018, with a freshly overhauled prop and certiied 121.5 ELT. Hours may increase slightly with continued lying.

Although IFR equipped, it would require an ADF antenna (wire replaced) and IFR re-certiication.

This aircraft has served us well for 11 years. It went to Oshkosh every year from 2008 through 2016. It makes a great trainer, time-builder or cross country traveller.

This would be an ideal aircraft for a group buy.

I can supply a spreadsheet to manage a partnership and we can even provide comfortable hangar space at CYYG.
